Wedding LOVE

It goes a little something like this...
I LOVE shooting weddings.
I LOVE it when the Bride takes the dress out of the bag and I get to see it!
I LOVE all the details and planning.
I LOVE when he sees her for the first time.
I LOVE seeing the reception decorated and unique to her taste.
I LOVE it when the DJ annouces the couple into the room, and there is a roar of 'Yays' bouncing off the walls.
I LOVE the first dance and when they get to have a private moment, in front of everyone.

I LOVE that I get to capture such a wonderful day that means so much.

I LOVE capturing marvelous moments at anytime...

This couple encaptured all the moments and gave me extra too.. Including a wonderful wedding cake SMASH.

Love Notes from the bride :

"Holly,
I absolutely LOVE the pics!!!!! You did an amazing job capturing what was an amazingly perfect day for us!!!!! I can't wait to see the rest of the photos. Thank you so much for all you did. I will be sure and HIGHLY recommend you to anyone/everyone I can!"

BUT most of all I LOVE the kiss... the kiss of all kisses. The FIRST kiss that makes it official. That's right folks, signed sealed delivered. I LOVE the kiss more than Reese's Peanut Buttercups. And strawberry jam. And black and white film grain. And that is alot.

YAY!

Giving Back

Being a photographer you begin to realise that you can make a larger impact with images, than with any other influence. Here are two foundations that I dedicate time and photography.

An organization, Operation: Love ReUnited sessions are for deploying, deployed and returning military families. Operation: Love is site that give patriotic hope and families the love and support soldiers need overseas.
I am participating in this group to show my deepest USA pride, and honor. The site has a simple phase that captures the essence of it all... Giving back to those who ask for nothing more, than to come home. Patriotic Portraiture.

Please visit Operation: Love to send donations or spread the word to soliders that you want to inspire.

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation

It is a wonderful and heartbreaking. A dear friend suggested offering my photography services after her healthy baby boy was born.
Please be prepared when you look at the website, truly it was emotional.

Here is the mission message from the organization: "This is the place where the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization."

If you would like to read more or send a donation on the behalf of someone, please visit Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation.

Rancho San Antonio Boy Home is a wonderful organization.

This spring I was able to do some photography for their website. Rancho San Antonio is a multi-service residential agency serving adolescent boys. I was impress by the balance of spiritual, discipline and educational focus on the programs.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of a non profit organization that gives so much back to their community.

Robyn and T.J.

My talented photography friend/assistant Robyn is moving to Chicago. We both seized the opportunity to do sessions for one another for website and promotions. Although I haven't seen her shots yet, I know they are perfect!

Now, on to the juicy love story stuff. T.J. and Robyn are moving to Chicago together. They both grew up there, loved each other there, and now are moving back there. I know they will have beautiful babies and invite me out for lots of St. Pattys days' parties!

Lots of love!

The moral of the story is that if you need some photography and you are in Chicago look up my girl Robyn. Her Wonderful Website

Dinosaurs, Archaeology, and Paleontology

I was 7 or 8 and I wanted to dig for dinosaur bones. My favorite dinosaur was a triceratops. That is all I wanted to do when I "grew up". I am so glad someone told me how long I would have to be in school, before it was too late.

Since that is in the past I have to tell you that I love being a Wedding Photographer. It is being a part of life, and not digging up the past.

I don't get out a lot...Unless it is on a weekend and I am shooting a wedding. Truthfully since I started shooting I get to see the most beautiful hotels, locations and beaches, I would never have seen in a lifetime on my own.

From being in a residence that has more room than my apartment building, to going to a private beach covered in flowers for a ceremony. I have the life.

Sometimes I am just in shock on what an opportunity Wedding Photography has opened for me. But mostly I am just so darn lucky that I am doing something I love.

It is being a part of people's lives, moments and the best is knowing that they will have photos that marked the first/best moment of their lives together.

So in the end I am glad that childish dreams stay in your childhood, and you never really have to "grow up" to do what you want to do in life.

Interview with Yours Truly

I cry alot

"i do"

The photo is just sweet and it isn't from the story below.

Last night I went to a Los Angeles Dodgers game with my boyfriend and his parents. It was great. I have a slight obsession with the "kiss cam". This is when the huge jumbo tron goes around the stadium taking shots of couples kissing. I have yet to be caught sneaking a peck with my honey, but I always do enjoy it.

So last night, they had a proposal!! It was so exciting. I saw him get down on his knees and then my tears started welling up. It was sooo sweet. I feel a nudge from my boyfriend and he is laughing.

I just can't help it. It is so great to see people in love. I usually only get to see the wedding day... so to see the start of it all is really fantastic.

I really do love it all.
Here is a website for wedding proposals: Proposal Stories Too!

Here is a video I saw that makes me laugh and cry
If you dig pranks this is a good one

Sneak Peek... shh

I absolutely love this couple. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I would marry them if they didn't marry each other. And they had the most fabulous decor and cake!

I couldn't help myself I just have to "air handclap" for how happy and cute they are together.

The reception was at Salt Creek Grill in Dana Point, CA

Here is a preview of their beautiful wedding and details.

Kisses and stuff

Cutest Baby - Norman Rockwell Style

Happy Holidays!

I can't take credit for this beauty. This is a perfect 1st meeting with Santa. You can tell some serious negotiations are happening. It reminds me of this famous drawing.

Lots of Kisses

Yay! Wedding Wire

Super duper... I am going to try out this Networking resource for wedding planning. I am totally excited about it and really can't wait to get going.

I have been in the community pages answering questions about planning, time lines and glass clinking during the reception. Awesome.

So here is a link.

I should blog more...

Of course I know it. It is always a little voice that says, "why aren't you bloggin"..

It is more about posting pictures than anything to me. So I think that it is official that my friend is addicted to facebook. So I started posting photos on there, and doing networking and going that route.
But I think blogging is more fun and personal.

In any case, the holidays are coming, wedding season is ending (except for two after Christmas) and that means that I can work on more wedding and more photography for 2009. Yay

Lots of Love and Kisses,
Holly
